How do I find the PubMed ID for my paper?

To find the PubMed ID for your paper, search PubMed with the title of your paper (or keywords, authors, etc.). The ID will be listed after PMID. See the following example:

Bourne PE, Addess KJ, Bluhm WF, Chen L, Deshpande N, Feng Z, Fleri W, Green R, Merino-Ott JC, Townsend-Merino W, Weissig H, Westbrook J, Berman HM.
The distribution and query systems of the RCSB Protein Data Bank.
Nucleic Acids Res. 2004 Jan 1;32(Database issue):D223-5.
PMID: 14681399

There may be some confusion about PubMed and PubMed Central. These are different archives, although the holdings in PubMed Central are a small subset of PubMed. The PubMed ID for a paper is not the same as a PubMed Central ID.

To find the PubMed Central ID for your paper, search PubMed Central with the title of your paper (or keywords, authors, etc.). The ID will be listed after PMCID. See the following example:
