What are SciVee Communities?

SciVee Communities are virtual communities that can be created to nurture interest in a particular topic. These communities can be created by any SciVee member and any SciVee member can join a community if that community is open to the public. Within the community, users can add pubcasts and videos of interest to the community and start discussions among community members by making comments directly to the community or on the pubcasts and videos. You can leave a community at any time.

If a community is set to private, you may need to request that the community manager adds you to that community. There are actually 4 different privacy settings for communities.

1. open - subscription requests are accepted immediately.
2. moderated - subscription requests must be approved.
3. invite only - subscriptions must be created by an administrator.
4. closed - subscriptions are fully administered by an administrator.
