What are Tags, and how are MeSH terms used in SciVee?

When you upload a paper to SciVee we automatically extract the MeSH terms that have been already assigned when you published the paper. We take those terms and attach them to your pubcast so that they can be used as search keywords, or what we also call tags. You are also able to add additional tags (keywords) to your pubcast if you like. Tags can also be added to videos when you upload them.

MeSH is an acronym for Medical Subject Headings, the National Library of Medicine's hierarchical controlled vocabulary which is used to index articles in MEDLINE and PubMed.

When an article is indexed in MEDLINE or PubMed, expert curators at the National Library of Medicine assign MeSH terms to the article based on the content. These terms are then used for searching, cataloging, etc.
