What publications can I upload?
Currently, you can upload videos related to publications from any journal. For some open access publications, we can automatically fetch the full text and details of your publication to associate with your video but for other publications, we'll have to ask you to provide the title, author list, etc. For other open access publications and all closed access publications, we will accept the abstract of your paper and you can associate it with your video to create a SciVee pubcast.
In particular, PLoS publications are open access so the full text of the paper is available for free and unrestricted access. So, if you have published in a PLoS journal, you can associate the full text of your paper with a video on this website. A listing of PLoS journals is available online at: http://www.plos.org/journals/index.html. Papers published by BioMed Central are available for free and unrestricted access.
Note: even though an article is open access there may be some restrictions on the way it is used. Papers published under the Creative Commons 3.0 (or previous 2.0) license can be used in full form on SciVee. Papers published under the Creative Commons 2.5 license must be treated as closed access on this site which means that we cannot display the full text or figures from the paper, nor can they included in your pubcast. If you are in doubt, please consult your publisher.
We do encourage you to have your paper published with an online open access publisher. A listing of these journals is available at PubMed Central. To learn more about open access publishing link to the PLoS (Public Library of Science) Open Access Information.
