Dr. Catterall describes autoinhibitory control of cardiac L-type cardiac calcium channels by protein phosphorylation and macromolecular signaling as well as regulation of P/Q type calcium currents in neurons. His research suggests novel targets for drugs affecting cardiovascular or central nervous systems.
